Operating guide

TR8ER

Research, portfolio intelligence, approvals, and risk-controlled execution in one desk.

Start here

  1. Check the PAPER/LIVE and KILL badges.
  2. Confirm Dashboard says the broker is connected.
  3. Keep the kill switch on until keys, limits, and policies are reviewed.
  4. Use Research and Debate for evidence; use Approvals for decisions.

Forecasts are experimental research. They are not guarantees or direct trade signals. Real orders still pass approvals, the kill switch, policies, and risk limits.

How the system is divided

Fly web app

Independent multi-user website with encrypted per-user broker keys and ledgers.

Mac scheduler

Runs the local daily screen and five-minute protective loop against tr8er_live.db.

Jarl

Optional voice and notification bridge. The website works without it.

Important separation

Fly and the Mac can use the same broker account, but proposal queues and ledgers are separate.

The screens

Dashboard

Equity, VOO comparison, risk state, approvals, and activity.

Positions

Holdings and their autonomy, stop, target, size, and hold policies.

Watchlist

Symbols and one-shot price alerts. Alerts never trade.

Approvals

Review and submit or reject proposed orders. This is the execution gate.

Ideas

Momentum screen plus AI bull/bear/judge analysis. Queueing is not approving.

Debate

A technical and contextual BUY/PASS argument with conviction and rationale.

Research

Charts, news, insider filings, evidence, and 1/5/20-day forecasts.

Scorecard

Portfolio versus VOO plus 5/20-day signal hit rates.

P/L

FIFO realized results, fees, open lots, unmatched history, and CSV exports.

Settings

Mode, kill switch, limits, arming, broker keys, and teammate accounts.

News and predictions

Sources are labeled ticker (must mention the symbol), macro (broad context), or market (market stream only). Tr8er validates URLs and redirects, isolates failed feeds, strips feed markup, clusters duplicate stories, and stores evidence. Forecasts include direction, probability-up, expected move, confidence, rationale, and sources. As horizons mature, stored forecasts can be scored; lower Brier score is better.

Safety controls

Paper / LIVE

LIVE can move real money and requires explicit confirmation.

Kill switch

Stops all order execution while leaving research available.

Sleeve limits

Caps automated capital, daily loss, and drawdown.

Arming

AI_AUTO entries need a temporary arming window and live-entries permission.

Daily workflow

  1. Check mode, kill switch, broker, and protective-loop state.
  2. Review holdings and exceptions.
  3. Read market news and research real catalysts.
  4. Compare the news forecast with the technical Debate.
  5. Reject unclear proposals; approve only after checking size and policy.
  6. Review Activity, P/L, and Scorecard over time.

Troubleshooting

Automation, Inbox and alerts

Safe guest demo

Use a teammate login, keep PAPER mode or KILL enabled, never share broker secrets, and do not arm auto-buys. Demonstrate Dashboard → Research → Debate → Scorecard → P/L, and explain that queueing and approving are separate.
